Facilitate adherence and implementation of purchasing policies, procedures and systems. Serve as negotiator for procurements of material and services for the company. Stay abreast of new processes, technologies, materials, purchasing methods, statutory requirements and market conditions. Communicate with management on any significant factors that could affect business, material cost, utility cost, or the financial impact to the Company. Manage centralized purchasing and contract functions for a multi divisional organization that requires items with unique requirements as to Supply Chain Services company Authorize purchase orders which are in conformance with the Procurement Procedure and authority levels. Review and evaluate competitive suppliers. Make presentation and recommendation to respective authorities and upon approval, award contract / purchase order. Review and respond to vendor protests. Measure vendor performance, cancel or suspend contract/ purchase orders for vendors not meeting performance requirements. Attendance at work is an essential function of this position. Make site visits to measure productivity and progression of contracts / supplies throughout the Companies offices and warehouses. Ensure quality standards are met through administration of purchasing complaints and resolutions provided by the using departments.
